Bio

Susannah "Susan" was one of 11 known children of William and Elizabeth Ann (Clifton) Royal. She married James Harvey Hicks, Sr. on 31 Jan 1822 in Perry County, IN and they had at least 11, possibly 13 children, all born there. 1. Dr. William Royal Hicks/Hix 2. Rev. Elizabeth Hicks/Hix It is assumed Susannah and James, Sr. are buried in the Hicks Cemetery where their son James is buried, but there are several illegible stones there and their burials have not been verified yet. Most sources list her death as 24 Nov 1897 but another source lists her death about 1906.
