Bio
A wake service followed by a rosary by the Knights of Columbus and Holy Name Society is scheduled for tonight at 7:30 for Edward Charles Scholl at Doeppenschmidt Funeral Home. Services will be Wednesday at 10am at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Msgr. Henry Herbst officiating. Scholl, 72, of 268 E. Mill St. died Sunday. He will be buried at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery. The former mechanic for the Lower Colorado River Authority was born May 23, 1908 in Lockhart to Charles and Nettie (nee Inscore) Scholl. On July 31, 1937 he married Placida (Pete) Hermes in San Antonio. Scholl who had lived in New Braunfels for 64 years, was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Holy Name Society and Knights of Columbus. Survivors include his wife; a son Pat Scholl, and two grandchildren, all of New Braunfels. Pallbearers will be Todd Scholl, Edgar Sahm, Jerry Hermes, John Smolik, Robert Hermes and William Hermes. -New Braunfels Herald-Zeitung-Tuesday, October 7, 1980.
