Bio

Phillip Eugene (Gene) Klapper, 68, of Childress, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 1, at Trinity Worship Center with Ronnie Shoffner officiating. Private burial will be in the Goodlett Cemetery. He was born March 15, 1945, in Quanah, a son of Phillip and Minnie Klapper. He attended school in Quanah and also served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Rhonda; and a sister, Dorothy Goodson. Survivors include a daughter, Angie Husband of Childress; a son, Phil Klapper of Afghanistan; two brothers, Billy Klapper of Pampa and Joe Klapper of Amarillo; a sister, Johnnie Taylor of Vernon; and four grandchildren.
