"OBITUARY John K. Novak died Monday morning at 4 o'clock at his home west of town in Newman precinct. He was born Jan. 19, 1841 in Vodbrad, Cecho-Slovakia and was 83 years and 29 days old at the time of his death. The deceased was among the early settlers that located in Newman precinct where he farmed for many years until several years ago he retired and moved to Brainard with his wife, where they resided until a few years ago they moved back onto the old home place staying with their son James. He is survived by his wife and five sons, Joseph M., Frank M., Louis J., John M. and James J. and one daughter Mrs. Sepl.
