Bio

She came to Taft in 1942 and began along career as a clerk in a number of grocery stores, retiring almost 20 years ago. She was an active member and past president of the Taft Business and Professional Women's Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Elmer E. Stowe, in 1983 and a son, Robert D. Stowe, in 1990. Her survivors include a daughter Mary Frances Jarvis; four grandchildren; two great grandsons; a brother, Harry Bumgarner of Houston, Texas; a sister, Joanna Hobson of Marshfield; and a sister in law, Gladys Lackey of Springfield, Mo.
