Eva married Thomas Steinbach around 1864. The family immigrated to the U.S. departing Hamburg on 18 July 1889 aboard the ship "Columbia". Thomas and Eva had ten children, three of them died before 1900. Eva Blahnik was born Dec. 24, 1841, in the old country of Bohemia. She was married to Thomas Steinbach, and came to the United States in 1888, first locating in Saunders county. When the Ponca valley country was opened they came to Knox county, to the Monowi and Verdel neighborhood. They lived on a farm until 1924 when she moved to town. She passed away on Sept. 24. Her husband preceded her in death in 1903. She leaves seven children: Joseph of Prague, Thomas of Verdel and John of Stuart; Mary Jacot of Verdel, Anne Vondika of Verdel, Katy Stuart of Lynch and Dory Linhart of Verdel. She also left 101 grandchildren and great grand children and one great, great grandchild.
