Corporal Victor DeFoor, Vietnam Veteran, native of Abilene, Texas Cpl Victor DeFoor was a casualty of the Vietnam War. As a member of the Army, Cpl DeFoor served our country until July 10th, 1970 in Thua-Thien Hue, South Vietnam. He was 20 years old and wasn't married. It was reported that he was killed by shrapnel from a hostile exploding mortar round. He was born in Cherokee County, Texas, on March 9th, 1950. His body was recovered. Cpl DeFoor is on panel 08W, line 007 of the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Washington D.C. He served our country for more than 1 year. He is the Son of Mr and Mrs Albert P DeFoor, 3201 Grand Street, Abilene, Texas. Cpl DeFoor served as a Infantryman with Bravo Company, 3rd Platoon, 2nd Battalion, 506 Infantry, 101st Airborne Division, USARV. Cpl DeFoor was awarded The Bronze Star Medal with 'V' Device for Valor, The Purple Heart Medal for his combat wounds, The National Defense Service Medal, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Vietnam Campaign Medal and The Vietnamese Gallantry Cross Unit Citation.
