Graveside services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, Mar. 21, at Twin Oaks Memorial Park for Agnes Ann Baize, 1505 Yucca Ave., Artesia, New Mexico. Mrs. Baize, 97, died Sunday, March 17, 2013 at her home. Ann was born November 1, 1915 in Prague, Oklahoma; the daughter of Matt Babek and Anna (Patak) Babek. She was a longtime resident of Artesia. In 1964 she was married to Horace "Nick" Baize in Carlsbad, N.M. He preceded her in death May 1997. She was a sales clerk for H & J Grocery and a member of the Catholic Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and a daughter Edith Searcy. Survivors include grandson George Searcy; granddaughter Susanne Marchetti; step-sons Winston Baize, Ronnie Baize and wife Donna, and Tim Baize and wife Theresa; step-daughter Dorletta Baize Hildebrand and husband Mark; sisters Emma Lee Hurd, and Marie Klinen; brother George Babek; 12 step-grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
