Clyde Jay Bair 1924 - 2014 Early Life: Clyde was born on November 30, 1924, to Harold Moss Bair and Leah Grace Bateman Bair in Alpine, Utah. He grew up in Alpine, Utah, and attended American Fork High School where he participated in track, earning several honors. Life's Work/Service/Interests: Clyde served an LDS mission to the Eastern States where his testimony was deeply strengthened. He returned to marry his sweetheart, Doris Gordon, in the LDS Salt Lake Temple in 1946. Together, they were parents to two daughters. They moved to Colorado where he began his career in Hotel Management. Several years later, they moved back to Utah where he took a position at BYU in administration. He retired as assistant to the vice-president of BYU. Doris preceded him in death after 63 devoted years. Clyde served faithfully in many Stake and Ward callings in the Church including Bishop in Colorado, Bishop of a BYU student ward, Stake Presidency, family history specialist and loved being a home teacher. He wholeheartedly lived the gospel of Jesus Christ, was loyal to family and friends and charitable to everyone. He was a very gracious man, so appreciative of those around him for their service and friendship. Clyde was an avid fisherman, hunter and loved working with his hands in wood work, creating beautiful pieces of furniture and gun stocks. He enjoyed spending time in the mountains with his grandchildren. He also devoted many years to family research and genealogy. Loving father, grandfather, and great grandfather, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2014. Survived By: His daughters, Diane (Lynn) Larson and Denise (Steve) Cornia; seven grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; a brother, Glen (Edna) Bair; and many wonderful aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
