Bio
William "Bill" Luke Reed was born July 25, 1927 in Van Wert, Iowa and passed away on February 19, 2014 at Parkridge Specialty Care in Pleasant Hill, Iowa. Bill lived his entire life in the Des Moines area and was an over the road truck driver for over 40 years driving for Wood & Fender and Pulley Freight Line before retiring in 1987 to spend the winters camping in southern states and summers traveling Iowa attending blue grass festivals. Bill was a long time, faithful member of Rising Sun Church of Christ serving as elder, deacon, trustee, Sunday School Superintendent and Sunday School teacher. He is preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Jessie Reed; brothers, Willard and Curt Reed and sisters, Louise Deaton and Betty Wilson.
