EULA – Jeannette "Jan" Graves, 77, of Eula died Wednesday, February 19, 2014 at her home. Funeral services will be 3:30 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Bailey Howard Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain E.J. Chafin officiating. Burial will follow in the Eula Cemetery under the direction of Bailey Howard Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 20, 2014 at the funeral home. Mrs. Graves was born April 10, 1936 in Eden, Texas to Silas and Thelma Lorrene (Rowe) Lumbley. She attended Winters High School and was a Baptist. Mrs. Graves married R.D. Graves November 28, 1978 in Anson. She was head of housekeeping at the Holiday Inn and worked as a hostess and cashier. Mrs. Graves was a great gardener, animal lover, seamstress, bowler, and family counselor. She was a loving and devoted wife, caring mother, someone who would take an inch and give a mile; she was our family "Joan of Arc." Mrs. Graves is survived by her husband R.D. of Eula; children, Gaylene Wilcoxen and husband David of Washington, Melvin Halford and wife Nehl of Silsbee, Sue Wilkinson of Katy, Pam Wetter and husband David of Minnesota, Linda White and husband Greg of Semi Valley, California, Russell Graves and wife Colleen of Abilene and Stacy Ryan and wife Patricia of Abilene; one sister, Rebecca Brown of Kingsville; seventeen grandchildren, seventeen great grand children and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, one son Rufus (Butch) Graves Jr., one daughter Sheila Jean Bailey and one son-in-law Kevin Wilkinson Sr. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hendrick Hospice Care PO Box 1922, Abilene, Texas 79604.
