Marie H. Sabata, 92, of David City died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2013, at her son's home, surrounded by her entire family. Marie Stuchlik was born Oct. 9, 1921, in Prague to Anton and Catherine (Paseka) Stuchlik. She attended country school near Prague. Marie was united in marriage to Charles G. Sabata on June 11, 1947, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bruno. They farmed near Bruno until 1960 when they moved to the farm east of David City. Charles died May 5, 1995, and Marie stayed on the farm till March of 2011, when she moved to David Place. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and a member of the PCCW and the Seminarians Club. Marie had compiled very detailed scrapbooks of genealogy since World War II, and had just recently donated over 50 years of her scrapbooks to the David City Public Library. Marie was a very giving and generous person. No one ever left her house without being fed, and she had a good sense of humor. Family meant everything to Marie, and she was surrounded by her entire family when she passed away. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and brothers, Leander and Joe Stuchlik. The funeral will be 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City with the Revs. James Meysenberg and Bernard Kimminau officiating. Visitation will be from 3-5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Kracl Funeral Chapel in David City and from 6:30-7:30 p.m. at the church with a rosary at 7:30 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9-9:45 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery in Appleton. Marie requested memorials in lieu of flowers to family choice.
