Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Barbara was born in Ferris, Texas, to the late James Preston and Lula Daniel Douglass, and was the seventh child. She was an active member of Calvary Baptist Church for 75 years where she taught Sunday School for 64 years, sang in the choir and served as church secretary for 19 years before retiring shortly before her husband's death in 2001. Throughout her life, she shared her father's passion of baseball and was an avid fan of the Texas Rangers. She also loved to crochet, crafting numerous beautiful afghans cherished by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. W. Teel, in 2001; five sisters; and a brother. Barbara is survived by her eight children: sons: Rev. Lain Teel and wife, Joanie, of Corsicana, Randy Teel and wife, Joan, of Mexia, Joe Teel, of Mexia, David Teel and wife, Frankie, of Austin, and Mike Teel and wife, Darlene, of Mexia; daughters: Marsha Smith, of Mexia, Toni Douglass, of Waco, and Mary Castillo and husband, Felipe, of League City; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
