Bio

Viola Taylor, died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Golden Living Center at Lakeview, Grand Island, Nebraska. Viola was born February 4, 1925 to Jonas and Leona (Baldwin) LeMasters in Cedar Rapids, Nebraska. Viola grew up in Fullerton, Nebraska and graduated from Fullerton (Ne.) High School in 1942. Viola was united in marriage to Dale Taylor on April 19, 1944 in Fullerton, Nebraska. To this union eight children were born. She was a stay at home mom until all her children were grown up. She then began working as a nurse's aide and cook at Coolidge Center in Palmer, Nebraska and at the nursing home in St. Paul, Nebraska. Viola was a resident of the Golden Living Center at Lakeview for the past 12 years due to suffering from Alzheimer's Disease. Viola loved to read and enjoyed her newspapers each morning over a cup of coffee. She also loved working crossword and jigsaw puzzles. Viola is survived by: children and their spouses, Roger Taylor of Kearney, Nebraska, Loyd & Margene Taylor of Grand Island, Nebraska, Gary & Nita Taylor of Hampton, Nebraska, Mary & Richard Kraft of Grand Island, Nebraska, Nancy & Rex Bennett of Palmer, Nebraska, Jean Paxton of St. Paul, Nebraska and Debra & Denzel Jardine of Grand Island, Nebraska; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and a host of family and friends. Viola is preceded in death by: parents; husband, Dale Taylor on December 19, 2012; son, Howard Taylor; grandchildren, Calvin Bennett, Bobbi Jean Paxton and Jeffrey Paxton; brothers, Sherman, Cecil, and Clarence LeMasters and sisters, Bernice Kudsk, Ila Bruna and Dorothy Bergeron. Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2014 at the Wesleyan Church, Palmer, Nebraska. The Reverend Tim Wilson was officiator. Interment was in Rose Hill Cemetery, Palmer, Nebraska.
