Bio

James Cecil Cooper died in Springfield, MO on Wednesday, May 24, 2000. He was 94. Mr. Cooper worked as a custodian in the public schools of California. He also served as a police officer in Cisco and later worked for Cisco Lumber and Supply. Mr. Cooper was a member of the First United Methodist Church. He was a fifty year member of the Cisco Masonic Lodge and was also a member of the Cisco Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and the York and Scottish Rite and Woodmen of the World. Mr. Cooper was predeceased by his first wife Addie May Horn whom he married in 1947 and who died in 1984 and by his second wife Zola Wheeler Thomas whom he married in 1993 and who died in 1998. He is survived by his son Lewis Cooper of Odessa, his daughter Shirley Wilson of Buffalo, Mo., five grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Turner officiating. Masonic graveside rites will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.
