Bio
Eugene F. Bernt, 76, of Shelby, passed away March 3, 2013 at York General Hearthstone. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 10 a.m. at Dubas Funeral Home in Osceola with Father John Rooney officiating. There will be no visitation. Interment will be in the Shelby Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery. Eugene was born Oct. 2, 1936 to Firdinand A. and Esther Hilda (Scholz) Bernt near Shelby. He attended District 14 country school and graduated from Shelby High School. Eugene lived on the family homestead northwest of Shelby where he farmed. He resided there until moving to the York General Hearthstone on Nov. 1, 2006 where he resided until his passing. Survivors include cousins, and a host of friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Lucille, who passed away Dec. 6, 2012.
