Barbara Ann Lacy, age 91, of Longview, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, August 13, 2025. Barbara was born on October 31, 1933, in Wolfe City, Texas, to Lewis Dudley and Vivian A. Turner Maloney. Barbara was raised in Wolfe City, Texas, and graduated from Wolfe City High School in 1951. She married Charles Ray Lacy in 1951, and the couple had four children. Together, they owned a dry-cleaning business, McLennon Cleaners, where she worked for more than 20 years. In her spare time, Barbara enjoyed drawing, painting, puzzles, and word find; she said to keep her mind sharp. Most recently, living at Arabella Assisted Living, she painted a picture with the Kilgore Rangerettes. She loved friends and anyone she could tell her many stories to. Her family and friends will always remember her as a sweet and kind mother and friend to all. Barbara is preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Lacy; and daughter, Cynthia Gail "Cindy" Lacy Scarbrough. Barbara is survived by children, Steve Lacy (Cathy), Nancy Gilstrap (Bob), and Teri Lacy; grandchildren, Shannon Lacy, Brad Lacy, Matt Lacy, Chris Gilstrap, and Erin Gilstrap; great-grandchildren, KeYnna Fisher Frye, Karlie Kay Shelton Gilstrap, Hudson Lacy, Pierce Lacy, Briley Lacy, and Elle Lacy. The family would like to thank Wilda Mathis and all staff that took care of Barbara at Arabelle Assisted Living Kilgore. They were all so kind to her. Also, Dr. Marco Chavez, the nurses at Longview Regional Hospital, and Three Oaks Hospice, Primecare Pallicare. A visitation for Barbara will be held on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., at the Lakeview Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, located at 5000 West Harrison Road, Longview, Texas, 75604, followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m. at the same location. Barbara wished to leave these short messages with her friends and loved ones: "May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and the rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, may God hold you in the hollow of his hand." "May God grant you always... a sunbeam to warm you, a moonbeam to charm you, a sheltering Angel so nothing can harm you, laughter to cheer you, faithful friends near you, and whenever you pray, Heaven to hear you." [Obituary from Lakeview Funeral Home, Longview, Texas.] (CONTRIBUTED BY SPUD 6391 #49596969)
