Nettie Prince was the daughter of John Calvin Prince and Dora Florentine Kelley and was born in Wayne County, Tennessee, where her parents were born and where her family lived in 1900. By 1910, her family had moved to Texas, residing for a time in Rockwall County, where Nettie Prince married Samuel Taylor, having ten children together.
