Sarah was the daughter of Peter Draper and Susannah Dudley, as documented in her Bartholomew Co. civil death record. She died of "consumption," the common term for tuberculosis, which was rampant in those days. She was attended by her husband's brother, Dr. John S. Arwine. Peter Draper died in the latter part of the 1830s, probably in Jackson Co., Indiana. Sarah Draper married William Howard Arwine Aug. 21, 1856, in Brown Co., Indiana. He was born in Tennessee in 1827, and was living in Brown County with his brother when the 1900 census was taken. He died there Sept. 20, 1900. Sarah and William had one daughter, Mary Alice Arwine, who married 1st to Daniel O. Pogue in 1887 in Brown Co. Pogue died a few weeks after their marriage, and Mary Alice married 2nd to Joseph Ulysses Bruce in 1891. They moved to Pueblo, Colorado in the late 1890s, where they lived the remainder of their lives.
