Mary J. Schindler May 22, 1921 - November 8, 2004 Mary J. Schindler, age 83, went to be with her Lord and Savior on November 8, 2004 at 5:05 p.m. in Ft. Worth, TX from complications of Alzheimer's and pneumonia. Mary was born on May 22, 1921 in Leakesville, Green County, Mississippi to Virgil and Levi Havard Lewis. In 1957, Mary, her husband Victor and their children moved to Houston, TX where she worked and retired from Union Pacific Railroad. Over the years, she taught children's Sunday School and GA's, was a true prayer intercessor, and had the privilege of leading many to Christ. She was an active member of several churches throughout her life, Eastwood Baptist Church, Riverview Baptist Church, and First Baptist, Houston. After her husband Victor's retirement in 1984, they moved to Spring where she was a charter member of Woodlands Parkway Baptist Church, attended Encourager Church, Houston and also Abundant Life Assembly, Woodlands until 1998 when she moved to Ft. Worth, TX. Mary was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Victor Schindler, on July 21, 2003, Ft. Worth, TX. Mrs. Schindler is survived by daughter, Sandra Kay DeLoach and husband Rev. Roy DeLoach of Fort Worth, Texas; son, Ray Schindler and wife Susie Schindler of Willis, Texas; 8 grandchildren, Kira Mason of Düsseldorf, Germany, Danielle Boozer of Fort Worth, Texas, Dawn Ross of Fort Worth, Texas, Analiese Schindler of Houston, Texas, Raymond Schindler Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Zachary Schindler of Willis, Texas, Scott DeLoach of Aurora, Illinois, and Debi DeLoach of Fort Worth, Texas; 14 great grandchildren, Joshua, Moriah, Jake, Karly, Gray, Jazz, Madison, Noah, Nikki, Zachary, Wesley, Brayden, Austin, and Baylee. A host of other family and friends also survive. Services will be held on Friday, November 12, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. in Cashner Colonial Chapel with Rev. Roy L. DeLoach, son-in-law, officiating the services at her request. Interment will follow in Garden Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Raymond Schindler, Zachary Schindler, Jimmie Boozer, Joshua Boozer, L. D. West, and Tom Brown III. Honorary pallbearers are Butch Moore and Mitchell Moore. Visitation is on Thursday, November 11, 2004 from 5 to 9 p.m. in Cashner Funeral Home.
