Bio
Sharlene E. Yrjanson, age 75, of Watertown, South Dakota, passed away Saturday, October 17, 2009, at her home. There will be no visitation or services. Private family graveside services will be held at a later date. Sharlene Evelyn Sims was born April 23, 1934 in Castlewood, South Dakota to Ralph and Sarah (Gifford) Sims. She was the third of four children. She grew up and attended school in Castlewood. In 1952 Sharlene graduated from Castlewood High School. She married Galen Junso on January 1, 1953 and the couple had two daughters. Sharlene worked several years for the Paulis Company, the Codington County Treasurers Office, and Cheryl's Card Shop. Later, she married Willard "Willie" Yrjanson on February 14, 1981 in Watertown. Willie passed away on March 23, 1997. Sharlene enjoyed visiting with people, gardening and flowers. She was preceded in death by her mother and father; her husband; and one brother. Sharlene is survived by her daughters, Roxanne (Larry) Small of Watertown, SD and Sherri (Steven) Starnes of Sioux Falls, SD; her two brothers, Vernon (Dorothy) Sims of Cheyenne, WY and Gerald (Darlene) Sims of Dearing, GA; her brothers and sisters-in-law, Robert and Sheryl Yrjanson of Indianapolis, IN and Richard and Susan Yjranson of Kennewick, WA; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
