Arthur Woolbright Jr., 92, passed away Monday, Jan. 20, 2014. Funeral: 11:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 28, in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood. Arthur was born Oct. 7, 1921, in McKinney to Arthur and Mary Woolbright. In May 1944 he entered the U.S. Navy and participated in World War II, and the landing at Iwo Jima and Okinawa on the USS Ozark. He was honorably discharged in 1946. After World War II, he went back to work in the defense industry and retired from Lockheed Martin after 40 years of dedicated service in 1982. Mr. Arthur Woolbright Jr. and Mrs. Ruby W. Woolbright were married in Fort Worth on Feb. 11, 2000. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and one brother. Survivors: Mr. Woolbright leaves behind two children from his deceased wife, Dorothy Wilson Woolbright of McKinney, his son, Roy Tom Woolbright and wife, Merlyn, who have three daughters and six grandchildren, and his daughter, Carol Woolbright Kelso, and husband, Larry, who have a son, two daughters and four grandchildren; sister, Ruth Lentine of Sumpter, S.C. Mr. Woolbright also leaves behind his widow, Ruby W. Woolbright, who has six living children and one deceased child. Between Mr. and Mrs. Woolbright they share 16 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Published in Star-Telegram on Jan. 26, 2014
