Thanks to contributor #48796369 Eugene James Kolar, 49, of Palmer died Saturday, Aug. 14, 1999, at the Howard County Hospital in St. Paul. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Ord Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Melanie Adams will officiate. Burial will be in the Ord City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel. Mr. Kolar was born on Jan. 20, 1950, at Burwell to Jimmie and Lillian (Bruha) Kolar. He and his family lived for a short time near Comstock and then on the family farm west of Elyria. He attended a rural school near Elyria and graduated from Ord High School in 1968. He married Rebecca Jorgensen on Oct. 18, 1971. The couple lived in Grand Island, then in Scotia for a number of years. They moved to Palmer in 1993. He worked in various construction jobs and most recently at Chief Automotive as a welder. He enjoyed tractor pulls, mud pulls and car shows. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Quentin of North Loup, Justin of Norfolk and Brock of Palmer; three grandchildren; and one brother, Larry of Elyria. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Dorothy. The Grand Island Independent, Aug. 17, 1999
