Bio

George Raymond Nichols 67, a retired farmer and manager of Lewiston Grain Growers, Inc. at Reubens, died of cancer at 12:25 a.m. Wednesday. He had been a patient there since March 30. Nichols moved to Clarkston in February but lived most of his life in the Craigmont and Reubens areas. He was born Jan. 1, 1910 to Fred and Nettie Nichols at Craigmont where he also attended school. He married Irmyth Lyle Fell on Aug 19, 1931, at Asotin. They farmed north of Craigmont for 21 years. He retired from farming in 1952 and moved to Reubens where he was employed as manager of the Lewiston Grain Growers. He retired from that job in January of 1975. He moved to 1223 Fair St. at Clarkston last February. He was a member of the Lewiston Elks Lodge and the Reubens Grange. Survivors include his wife at the family home at Clarkston; three sons, Jacke E. of Clarkston, Robert G. of Wichita, Kansas, and Dale L. of Lewiston; one half-brother, Marion McPeak of Sterling, N.D. and six grandchildren.
