PARENTS: Dewitt and Mary (Adams) Herbert A funeral service for Gladys Rae Votaw, 96, of Kempner was Jan. 11, 2014, at Crawford- Bowers Funeral Home Chapel in Copperas Cove. Burial was at the Votaw family cemetery in Kempner. Mrs. Votaw died Jan. 7 in Austin. She was born March 22, 1917, in Bell County, to Dewitt and Mary Adams Herbert. Survivors include sons and their wives, David Votaw and wife Debbie of Kempner, and Tom and Bernice Votaw of Mt. Vernon; daughters, Mary Houston and husband Opie of Austin, and Darcus Wilson of Webberville; a brother, Maloy Herbert and wife Melene of Belton; a sister, Tommy Ramm and husband Harold of Florence; 11 grandchildren; and 12 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd E. Votaw. Arrangements by Crawford- Bowers Funeral Home of Copperas Cove.
