Zita Cecelia Kahlig, 89, of Westphalia, died Wednesday, February 29, 2012 in a Temple Nursing Center. Services were held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Church of the Visitation in Westphalia. Rev. Walter Dhanwar officiating. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in Westphalia. Mrs. Kahlig was born November 27, 1922 in Westphalia to Anton and Bertha Engelhart Fuchs. She lived in the Westphalia community all of her life. She married Ben W. Kahlig on June 12, 1945. She was a member of the Church of the Visitation, the Altar Society, and the Westphalia Historical Society. She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant daughter, Patricia Diane; grandson, Christopher Kahlig; sisters and brothers, Sister Mary Tharsilla CDP, Sister Mary Audrey CDP, Sister Mary Liliosa CDP, Msgr. Robert A. Fuchs, Walter Fuchs, Msgr. Sylvester Fuchs, Werner Fuchs. She is survived by two sons and two daughters. Memorials may be made to the Church of the Visitation. Rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday in Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Funeral Home in Rosebud. Cook-Gerngross-Green-Patterson Child: Patricia Diane Kahlig .
