From a 1915 Nance County, Nebraska, newspaper clipping file, transcribed by Linda Berney: Louisa Taake, born August 10th, 1866, in Clayton county, Iowa, and died in Columbus, Nebr., February 20, 1915, age 48 years, 6 months and 10 days. Of her father's family of five children, consisting of two sons and three daughters, all grew to man and womanhood. Two have since passed away, Mrs. Sophia who married Rudolph Templin, and leaving on Times Shore to mourn the loss of these, Mrs. Mary D. Thompson, Genoa, Mr. Frederick Taake, Genoa, Mr. Otto A. Taake, Closter, Nebr. She was married to Mr. Nearly in 1884, to this union were born 11 children, 6 sons and 5 daughters, 5 of these have died. Mrs. Nelse Nearly was married the second time to Mr. Peter Martz in 1904, to this union one child was born, a daughter still in need of a mother's care. Mrs. Martz united with the Lutheran Church in her childhood, and confirmed in the faith of that church so that her entire life has been given to the services of her master. On Saturday, Feb. 20th at the hospital in Columbus, she passed away to join the part of the family that had preceded to the land where the inhabitants shall never say I am sick....
