Bio
According to the 1900 Federal Census of Beat 3, Pontotoc, Mississippi, Elijah Dow Wooley was born in Alabama and was the son of Lorenzo D. and Sarah J. Wooley. The Winona Times - Winona, MS July 16, 1948 Lige D. Wooley Last rites for Lige D. Wooley, 63, were held June 5, at the Shiloh Methodist Church, Tiipah County, Miss., with Rev. OIlie Richardson officiating. Oliver Funeral Home, Winona, was in charge of arrangements. Mr. Wooley was born in Fayette County, Alabama, September 4, 1883. He married the former Cora Lee Elan on October 6, 1937. He passed sway at the Winona Infirmary June 4th, following an illness of about one and one-half weeks. He is survived by his life, Mrs. Cora Lee Wooley, French Camp; five daughters, Mrs. Zettie Jones, Walnut, Miss., Mrs. Frances Hudson, Twist, Ark., Mrs. Beadie Valek, Bettie Sue Wooley and L. D. Wooley, all of French Camp; two sons, Melvin Wooley, Kossuth, Miss., and Kelsey Wooley, Tennessee, one sister, Mrs. Bell Floyd, Myrtle, Miss.: one brother, Orlando Wooley, New Orleans, La. and fourteen grandchildren.
