Bio

Nitra Filyaw Nitra Filyaw, 97, of Green Valley, Ill., formerly of Sumiton, died Monday, May 3, 1999, in Illinois. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 8, 1999, at McCormack Cemetery. The Rev. Mark Adams will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 until 8 p.m. Friday. Bell Funeral Home of Sumiton will direct. She was a member of Sumiton Church of God. She is survived by her son, Clarence L. Filyaw of Green Valley, Ill.; three grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. The family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 711 W. Crestwood Dr. Peoria, Ill. 61614 or St. Jude Midwest Affiliate, 900 Main St., Suite 360, Peoria, Ill. 61601-1005.
