Bio

Richard Cantrell was born in 1826 in Warren, Tennessee. He married Sarah Elizabeth (unk) and they had two sons, both born in Tennessee: Cleveland R. b. 1847 and Thomas J. b. 1851. He later married Matilda Elizabeth West and they had 3 daughters, all born in Missouri: Nancy M b. 1857; Cindrilla b. 1859 and Mary Etta Elizabeth b. 1861. He and Elizabeth separated between 1870-1880. His death date and location are unknown. There are only two reports of Richard Cantrell after 1870 but there seems to be no solid proof to back up either one. One said he remarried on Nov. 28, 1880 to a Melissa (unk) and the other says he died in 1900 in the Galveston flood with one of his sons, which would had to have been Thomas J.
