Bob Griffith 83 of Weatherford, TX passed away Fri Jan 3, 2014 surrounded by family at his home in Weatherford. Memorial service is 11 am Wed in White's Chapel of Memories in Weatherford. In lieu of usual remembrances the Griffith family suggests contributions in Bob's memory to the Parkland Burn Center in care of the Parkland Foundation 2777 N. Stemmons Fwy, Ste 1700, Dallas, Texas 75207. Bobby Lee Griffith was born Jun 9, 1930 in Denton son of the late Evan Leon and Artie Marie Decker Griffith. Bob married the former Barbara Lou Faries and they celebrated more than 60 years of marriage. He had many hobbies which included gardening and a great love for animals of all kinds. Bob also loved children and spending time outdoors. One of his greatest pastimes was gambling whether at Horseshoe or Winstar. In fact every Tue at his home Bob and a few of his friends would play dominoes and on Wed at the Plantation Inn in Granbury he would meet and play poker. He lived for Tue and Wed up until just recently. Bob owned his own trucking company and after retiring he and Barbara obtained their real estate licenses and they began to sell real estate. Additionally Bob volunteered his time with the TX Forest Service. Bob was preceded in death by his son Bobby Lee Griffith Jr in 1985; two grandsons Shane Sullivan in 2008 and J.P. Sullivan in 2009; his parents Evan Leon and Artie Marie Decker Griffith; and brother Scooter Bill Griffith. Survivors: Wife Barbara Griffith of Weatherford; daughters: Brenda Lyn Brown and husband Cole and Becky L'Re Potter Lynes and husband Kelsy all of Keller; grandsons: Jordan Potter of Keller, Hayden Potter of Weatherford and Bryson Potter of Euless; g-grandson Kaden Potter of Keller; and a host of loving family and friends.
