The following obituary appeared in "The Altoona Mirror" (Altoona, PA) on January 4, 2014: Wayne A. Bennett April 13, 1936 – Dec. 31, 2013 Wayne A. Bennett, 77, Monroe, N.C., died Tuesday. He was born in Cumberland, Md., son of Merle and Wilma (Hollada) Bennett. Surviving are his wife, Barbara Jean (Williamson); two children: Wynn Clapper of Grandy, N.C., and Kirk of New Paris; a stepdaughter, Shannon Hunter of Memphis, Tenn.; six grandchildren; and a brother, Marvin of Bedford. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2014, the Rev. Ruth Shaver officiating. Interment will be held at Bedford County Memorial Park.
