Bio
J. T. MORELAND was born in Bowling Green, Jefferson County, Ohio, February 22, 1846; died near Newark, Indiana, March 19, 1903. He was married to Mary L. DEFORD, January 4, 1872. To this union were born five children, all of whom survive him. He was converted and united with the M. E. church while a boy and ever lived a faithful and consistent Christian, always devoted to the church and especially to his pastor, who had no truer friend. He was well versed in the polity and usages of the church and of the Masonic fraternity of which he was a prominent member. His counsel was sought by young and old alike. Although a helpless cripple for many years, yet he did a great work. He built wisely upon a sure foundation and adorned his life with beauty. May we all remember the sweet, yet strong, spirit, which gave him such power. Surely, "His works will follow him." W. J.
