Bio

Lavon Bowman Casstevens 86, was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Lavon was born July 23, 1919, in Mansfield, the daughter of Harbert and Mary Frances Crook Bowman. She married Truett Casstevens in Fort Worth on October 23, 1940. She was a homemaker and a devoted and caring wife and mother. Lavon loved shopping, watching girls basketball games and doing things for others. She attended First Baptist Church of Mansfield from birth until 1995 when she joined Walnut Ridge Baptist Church. Lavon was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Truett Casstevens, on January 22, 2005, her parents, Harbert and Mary Frances Bowman, brother, Elvis Bowman, and sister Leona Marshal. Survivors: Daughters, Shelia Betzel and husband Al, and Karen Parker and husband Rick all of Mansfield, granddaughter, Heather Strawn and husband, Stacy of Mansfield, great-grandsons, Landon and Cody Strawn, and numerous nieces and nephews.
