Margurete Elizabeth 'Maggie' Linder Wiggins Was one incredible woman. Born in Alaculsa, Murray County, Ga. to her father John William Linder and her mother Jane Harrison Demore. She grew up here and married William "Billy" Arthur Wiggins, his second wife first deceased. The couple had a large family bearing 7 children in addition to 1 from Billy's first marriage. Some time before 1900 the family relocated from Georgia to Granbury Texas. Billy passed away in Hood County in 1908 and the entire family had to work to support themselves. Maggie worked hard picking cotton to support the kids. When the girls were still very young they were helping to pick cotton right alongside their Mom. Some of the family re-located to California, Maggie included some time before 1940. She was killed in an automobile accident in 1949 while saving a grandchild. Grandchild safe and sound today(2018).
