Allen "Al" Zabloudil, 72, of Ottawa, Kansas died Thursday, December 26, 2013 at his home. Memorial services will be held at Dengel & Son Mortuary, 2:00 P.M. Monday, December 30, 2013. Family will meet with friends at 1:00 P.M. prior to services. Inurnment & Military Honors at Leavenworth National Cemetery, Leavenworth, Kansas at a later date. Al was born on Tuesday, May 6, 1941 in Ericson, Nebraska, the son of Joseph and Emma (Lehecka) Zabloudil. He graduated from Lexington High School, Lexington, Nebraska, with the class of 1959. He has lived in Ottawa since the late 1960's moving from Lexington, Nebraska. In the mid 1960's Al was united in marriage with Lavilla Hircock in Nebraska, they later divorced. On July 7, 1978 Al married Theresa Katzer in Ottawa, they later divorced. Survivors include his three children, Steven Zabloudil and wife Lisa of Memphis, Tennessee, Patty Blundell and husband Randy of Austin, Texas, and Matthew Zabloudil of Lawrence, Kansas; sister, Evie Zabloudil of Kearney, Nebraska; and good friend, Mary Martinez of Lawrence. He was preceded in death by his parents. He worked in the 1960's managing the Montgomery Ward Department Store, Ottawa. From 1970 to 1992 he worked as an electrical engineer/supervisor for King Radio/Bendix King and for seven years was a rural mail carrier in the Lawrence/Douglas County area. Al served in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1961 to 1965. He was a member of the Sacred Heart Church and Sacred Heart School Board, Knights of Columbus Council #3018, American Legion Post 60, Ottawa Bowling Association League Secretary, City of Ottawa Planning Commission and Board of Appeals, and a former member of Aerie Lodge #2700, Fraternal Order of Eagles.
