Buddy O. Cryer, 63, passed away in Tyler, Texas on Monday, December 23, 2013. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., Sunday, December 29, 2013, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of his life will take place at 11 a.m., Monday, December 30, 2013, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel of Ennis. Interment will follow in Bristol Cemetery. Buddy Odell was born in Ennis, Texas, to the late William F. and Annie Mae (Abbott) Cryer. He grew up in Ennis and graduated from Ennis High School in 1969. Buddy served his country proudly in the United States Army in Korea. He worked for the Texas Highway Department for 24 years as an equipment operator retiring in 1998 and residential maintance for several individuals in Ennis. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He enjoyed working on things and tinkering. Survivors include his sons, Kevin Cryer and his wife, Ivy, of Ennis, and Scott Cryer and his girlfriend, Ashley Caudillo; daughters, Vickie Stafford and her husband, Steven, of Rusk, and Linda Cryer and her husband, Gary Amburn; grandchildren: Aaron Gilbert, of Iowa, April Carter and husband, Michael, of Rusk, Amber Sathyan and her husband, Silas, of Mesquite, John Lord, of Ennis, Brittany and Tyler Cryer, of Mississippi, Amanda Cryer, of Dallas, Jacinda, Ivy, and Christiphore Cox, of Ennis, Joshua, Matthew, Kristana, Christophore Cryer, of Italy, and Alexis Reeves, of Oklahoma; great-grandchildren, Cody Stafford and Brayden Carter, both of Rusk; and brothers: Herman Cryer and his wife, Pat, James Cryer and his wife, Judy, and Billy Cryer; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
