Died at his home, five and a half miles south of Craig, on Sunday morning, September 14th, our aged and worthy citizen, Mr. Joshua Kelso. Mr. Kelso had been complaining for three or four weeks previous to his death, but was not thought to be dangerously ill until just one week before he died. Lung trouble is supposed to have been the cause of his death. Mr. Kelso was born in Switzerland County, Indiana, on the 8th day of February, 1832. He came to Missouri when he was about nine years old. He settled on the farm where he died, about the year 1844. The body of the deceased was buried at the Guilliams cemetery, north west of Craig, September 15th. A large procession followed the corpse to the grave yard. Mr. Kelso leaves a large family of children and grandchildren to mourn over his death. The family of the deceased have the sympathy of the writer in their sad bereavement. Mrs. Kelso desires to extend thanks to all of the friends who kindly assisted her during the illness and death of her husband, Reverand Reznor, of Craig, preached the funeral of Mr. Joshua Kelso at Paw Paw Chapel.
