Robert Larry "Red" Wilburn, 70 of Greenville, Texas went to be with his Lord and Savior Thursday, December 26, 2013 in Mesquite. A fellowship will be held at 2:00 P.M. with a memorial service celebrating Red's life beginning at 3:00 P. M. Sunday, December 29, 2013 at Riding High Cowboy Church in Union Valley under the direction of Ingram Funeral Home with Pastor Steve Bishop officiating. Red was born March 19, 1943 to Millard "Pete" Wilburn and Juanita Denny Wilburn in Greenville, Texas where he was raised and attended school. After graduation, he joined the United States Army and served our country for 20 years, serving during the Vietnam Era. After his retirement from the Army he returned to Greenville and worked for Lance Cracker Company, retiring after 25 years of service. On October 26, 2013 he married Jane Marjorie Harrell. He married his first wife, Sandra Wineinger, on January 17, 1968 and she preceded him in death on February 2, 2012. Red enjoyed Facebook, going to the Dairy Queen, and watching Judge Judy on TV. He is loved and will be missed by his wife Jane of Greenville; son Jerry Wilburn and wife Debrah of Greenville; daughter Tammy Dowdy and husband Doug of Emory; grandchildren Jeremy, Brad, Sarah, Chris. ----------------------------------- Robert "Red" Larry Wilburn was born March 19, 1943 in Greenville, Tx. the son of Millard "Pete" Fillmore Wilburn and Lillie Juanita Denney. He married Sandra Gail Wineeinger in Greeville, and to this union a son a daughter was born, Jerry and Tammy. She passed away in 2012 He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and he served three tours of duty there and received the Bronze Star amoung others medals. He was a retired Army Veteran and a retired transport Truck Driver for Lance Snacks. On the 26th of Oct. 2013 he married Jane Marjorie Harrell in Union Velley, Tx. and she Survies him. Services will be Riding High Cowboy Church Union Valley, Tex. visitation will be 2:00 and memorial services will be at 3:00. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Jackie. Survivors include his wife Jane, son Jerry and wife and daughter Tammy Wilburn Dowdy and husband. Also Grandchildren and neices and nephews.
