Lois LaVonne Simon, 87, of Burwell, Nebraska died December 22, 2013 at the Community Memorial Health Center in Burwell. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 27, 2013 at the First Christian Church in Burwell, Nebraska. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 – 8 p.m. at Hitchcock Funeral Home in Burwell. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery. Lois was born August 12, 1926 in Wheeler County, Nebraska to James and Nanna (Johnson) Donner. Lois married Rex R. Simon on April 23, 1947 in Ord, Nebraska. Lois is survived by three daughters, Janet and Dan Jones of Ord, Nebraska, Verna and Brian Ikehara of Elm Springs, Arkansas, Christine Simon of Ord, Nebraska. Six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A brother Carrol and Wilma Donner of Sun City, Arizona. Two sisters, Eunice Meuret of Lakewood, Colorado and Erlyn and Dale Mattley of Downs, Kansas. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister-in-law, Sarah Craven-Donner, a brother-in-law, Charles Meuret and a granddaughter, Wendy Ikehara.
