Bio

Thanks to contributor #48796369 Agnes M. Kosmicki, 81, of Ashton died Saturday, May 22, 1999, at the Howard County Community Hospital in St. Paul. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Catholic Church in Ashton. The Rev. Larry Coulter will officiate. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Ashton. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 7 p.m. vigil service, Wednesday at the church. Peters Funeral Home of Loup City is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Kosmicki was born on Nov. 7, 1917, in Valley County near Ord to John and Rose (Benben) Knebel. She attended Ord public schools and graduated from Ord High School in 1935. She married Clemence Kosmicki on April 20, 1936, at Ord. They farmed east of Ashton and later moved to Grand Island. She worked for Twin Rivers Co. for 13 years before becoming an inspector/grader for the U.S. Department of Agriculture. She traveled throughout Central Nebraska in her work. Mr. Kosmicki died on June 8, 1984. Mrs. Kosmicki moved to Ashton in 1985. She was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church and its altar society. Survivors include one sister, Mary (Mrs. Jerome) Carkoski of Loup City. In addition to her husband, she was preceded by one brother, Ed Knebel; and one sister, Irene Conway.
