Bio

Shelby Ponthieux, 71, of Marksville died in Rapides General Hospital Monday evening. He was a retired baker and candy manufacturer in Marksville. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Elise Jackson Ponthieux of Alexandria; three sons, Gary John Ponthieux and David Paul Ponthieux, both of Alexandria, and Lee John Ponthieux of Marksville; two daughters, Mrs. Lavia Marie Vaughn and Pamela Kay Ponthieux, both of Alexandria; three brothers, Nelson Ponthieux, Sylvan Ponthieux and Elmus Ponthieux, all of Marksville; two sisters, Mrs. Leontine Rabalais of Plaucheville and Mrs. Edna Moulard of Marksville, and eight grandchildren. Rosary will be said at 7 p.m. today in the chapel of Hixson Bros., Marksville. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday in St. Joseph's Catholic Church, Marksville.
