Bio
Rose Grimes, lifelong resident of Idalou, departed this life on Nov. 11, 2009 at the age of 96. She was born on Nov. 24, 1912 to Joseph and Julia Meek. Mrs. Grimes graduated from Idalou High School in 1930 and later married W.J. Grimes on Dec. 12, 1931. He preceded her in death on Aug. 3, 1987. She was a member of the Idalou Civic and Culture Club and a beloved member of the First Baptist Church. Those left to cherish her memory are one daughter, Gwendolyn Mull of Idalou; one son, Dale Grimes of Azle; one sister, Lucille Simpson of Lubbock; five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and five great-great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, the family would like memorial donations be made to First Baptist Church, 102 E 7th St, Idalou, TX 79329. Visitation services will be held this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at White Funeral Home in Idalou. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Nov. 14, 2009 at Idalou Cemetery in Idalou, Texas.
