Obituary: A memorial service for Oliver Martin Hanson, 93, will be at 11 a.m. June 5 at the First Church of Religious Science in Hemet. Inurnment will be in San Jacinto Valley Cemetery. He died Tuesday of pneumonia at Hemet Valley Medical Center in Hemet. Miller-Jones Mortuary in Hemet is handling cremation arrangements. Mr. Hanson, who was born in Chicago, came to California in 1944. He lived 46 years in Hemet, where he owned and operated a drapery business. He was a lifetime member of the Mt. San Jacinto College Foundation and the college band, the Golden Eagles. He was a benefactor and member of the board of directors of the Ramona Bowl Music Association and the Alzheimer's Association, both in Hemet. Mr. Hanson was also saxophonist, who for 35 years played with various dance bands in the San Jacinto Valley. Survivors include his wife, Claudia; two sons, Dean of San Francisco and Donald of Santa Ana; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
