Carole Jeanne Taylor, 66, of Waxahachie passed away Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. Carole was born Jan. 11, 1947 in Waxahachie to Edward and Lora Belle Wright. After graduating from Waxahachie High School in 1965, she attended Draughons Business School. She married Howard Willis of McKinney in 1965 and was widowed in 1982. She then married Don Taylor of Waxahachie in 1984 and they shared 29 happy years. At the time of her death, Carole was employed by US Aluminum and she also spent 15 years as the secretary of Farley Street Baptist Church. She was a very strong Christian and a devoted member of Farley Street Baptist, where she served as a Sunday School teacher, Awana director, First Place coordinator, and GMA counselor. Carole was a loving wife, mother, and granny. Her survivors include her husband, Don Taylor; children Allen Willis of Waxahachie, Lori Edson and husband Mark of Harker Heights, and Ryan Taylor of Mansfield; step-sons Dwayne Valencik and wife Vicky of Houston and Rhett Taylor of Gallipolis, Ohio; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents, brother, Jimmy Wright and granddaughter, Bailey Willis. The family will receive friends and relatives from 5-7 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 14 at Wayne Boze Funeral Home. The celebration of life will be held at 3 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 15 at Farley Street Baptist Church. Internment will follow at the Waxahachie City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Wayne Boze Funeral Home. Memorials can be made to Farley Street Baptist Church and the American Cancer Society.
