Bio
Ella May (Bender) Brubaker, daughter of Samuel and Rose (Millen) Bender was born in Louisville, Nebraska, January 14, 1890. When a young woman she moved to Omaha with her mother, four sisters, and one brother. On December 25, 1912, she was united in marriage to Walter Francis Brubaker and in 1915 she and her husband moved to a farm near Hendley, Nebraska, where they lived until the death of Mr. Brubaker, May 27, 1937. Since that time she has made her home in Hendley. She leaves to mourn her passing, four sisters, Mrs. Nora Linden (Frank) of Litchfield, Nebraska, Mrs. Lora Morgan (Charles)of Oakdale, California, Mrs. Anna Masilko (Rudolph) of Omaha, Nebraska, and Mrs. Helen Flynn (William) of Hot Springs, Arkansas, besides a host of other relatives and friends by whom she will greatly missed. She was always ready to lend a helping hand in time of need and to give her best for others. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, and brother, Clark Bender. Mrs. Brubaker passed away February 11, 1946, at the age of 56 years and 27 days. Her sister Mrs. Nora Linden was with her during her last few weeks of illness. Members of her household and friends did everything possible to make her suffering less until her passing away to be with her Master. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Nelson Gardner, pastor of the Beaver City Christian Church in the Christian church at Hendley on Wednesday afternoon February 13, 1946. Interment was made in Lynden Cemetery at Hendley. Music was furnished by a ladies quartet, composed of Glenna Wolzen, Neva Longsine, Wilda Martin, and Audrey Deeder, accompanied by Helen Moseley. Pallbearers were S. L. Meyers, Claude Potts, R. E. Goble, Baxter James, Art Fetter, and Frank Meyers.
