Bio
Mrs. Mary L. Bernstrauch, 91, funeral will be held Friday with burial in New Lutheran cemetery. She died 10:15 p.m. Tuesday at the home of her daughter and son-in-law southwest of Norfolk. Marie Louise Augusta Meyn was born April 1, 1863 at Pomerania, Germany to Mr. and Mrs. John Meyn. She came to the United States with her parents and sister to Wisconsin in 1884. Later she moved to Stanton county, Nebraska. She was married to August Bernstrauch on June 19, 1887. He died in 1944. They had 6 children. She was survived by 2 daughters: Mrs. R. J. Brower at Norfolk, Mrs. John Stange of rural Norfolk, 3 sons: Oscar and Herman at Norfolk, Paul at Albion, 25 grandchildren, a number of great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, 1 daughter in infancy, her only sister.
