Bio

From a 1909 Nance County, Nebraska, newspaper clipping file, transcribed by Linda Berney: Gregory Shotkoski died at the home of his son-law, Charles Augustine, November 5th. Mr. Shotkoski was born in Europe in a country, which at that time was a part of Austria. He came to this country 31 years ago and for a number of years has had a home with his daughter, Mrs. Augustine. Up to the time of his death he was active, and able to be around. The machinery of mortality simply stopped running and he passed away. He leaves behind him two children, twelve grandchildren and five great-grandchidren. He was taken to Fullerton for burial. - Ord Quiz ~~~~~~~~ Aged Polander Dead - The remains of Geo. (sic) Shotkoski who died at Burwell, Nov. 6th were shipped here Tuesday and taken to the Carcow (sic) Catholic church where funeral service were held. Deceased was 103 years of age at the time of his death and was a native of Poland. - Silver Creek Sand
