Francis R. Buresh, 72 years, of North Bend, died Friday, December 6, 2013 at Birchwood Manor in North Bend, Nebraska. Francis was born January 9, 1941 to Joseph J. and Mary A. (Hladky) Buresh on the family farm Northeast of North Bend, Nebraska. He graduated from North Bend High School in 1959. He served in the National Guard. Francis married Marjorie Hrebec on June 24, 1999 in Fremont, Nebraska. He farmed in the North Bend area his entire life and retired in 2008. He also did various jobs for Lonnie Spies Mobile Homes in Schuyler, Nebraska. Francis enjoyed Cech music and played in Polka groups. He loved singing Cech songs and enjoyed his dogs. He was a member of St. Charles Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus Council #3736 of North Bend, and the Dwight American Legion Post #110. Francis is survived by his wife Marjorie; step-son, Robert and wife, Cindy Kelly of Kearney, Nebraska; step-daughter, Sherry J. Kelly of Sumner, Nebraska; sister, Mary Ann Buresh of North Bend; sister-in-laws, Magdalene Buresh of Columbus, Nebraska and Agnes Buresh of North Bend; six step-grandchildren, eleven step-great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Rudolph Buresh and Joseph Buresh; sister, Agnes Humlicek; and step-daughter, Rita Kelly. Funeral Mass will be held 10:30 A.M., Monday, December 9, 2013 at St. Charles Catholic Church in North Bend, Nebraska. The Rev. Father Don Cleary will officiate. Visitation will be Sunday, December 8, 2013 from 3 PM to 8 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in North Bend with a Knights of Columbus Living Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Visitation on Monday from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Military services will be conducted immediately following the funeral in the Church parking lot by members of the Dwight American Legion. Burial will be at the Kearney Cemetery in Kearney, Nebraska at 3:00 P.M. Memorials may be given to the donor's choice. (mosermemorialchapels.com/obituary)
