************************************************************* Obituary provided by FAG member John Stewart (#47461177): Obituary (24 Sep 1959): Myrtle Sanburn, daughter of the late Charles and Dora Sanburn, was born on a farm near Friend, Nebr., June 22, 1886, and passed away at the Warren Memorial Hospital in Friend, Nebr., Sept. 19, 1959, at the age of 73 years, two months and 27 days. In early life she moved with her parents' family to Cheyenne County, Kansas, near Bird City, where they lived until 1900 when they returned to Friend. She finished high school in Friend in 1905. She then taught school for three years. On April 16, 1908 she was united in marriage with Fred Manning. Five children were born to this union. One son and four daughters. The son, Homer John, died in infancy. One daughter, Mrs. Olga Bridgeman, also preceded her in death, as did a brother, Ross. Her husband passed away in 1936. Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. Iris Boren of Fairmont, Mrs. Audrey Stewart of Friend, and Mrs. Vivienne Asper of near London, England; two brothers, Ralph Sanburn of Lyons, Nebr., and Warren Sanburn of Crete, Nebr.; also five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Manning was a faithful member of the Friend Methodist church, and loyal and active as long as her strength permitted. She was a loving and devoted mother and sister, who always enjoyed her family. She was loved by all who knew her, and had a sweet smile for everyone. She bore bravely the trials and troubles of life, and never complained of her lot.
